The transgene construct comprises the rat insulin promoter, the mouse cDNA and SV40 poly(A) signal sequences. The construct was microinjected into proneclei of zygotes isolated from BTBR (Black and Tan Brachyury) females. BTBR mice are models for the study of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and carry the Disc1del, Itpr3tf and T+ alleles. (J:248584)
