A 257 bp region (chr6:8811695488117210 on build GRCm38/mm10) upstream of the Gata2 gene was replaced with a loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette. The neo cassette was subsequently removed through cre-mediated recombination. This region, located approximately 77 kb upstream of the ATG translation start site, is an enhancer containing two GATA motifs (WGATAR) and one E-box (CANNTG). (J:259078)
