The mEos2 (monomeric Eos2 photoconvertible fluorescent protein) gene was inserted at the 3' end of the target gene just before the stop codon. The loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene that was inserted downstream of the gene was removed through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. This creates an allele expressing a chimeric protein containing the marker peptide at the C-terminus of the endogenous peptide. (J:263617)
