This transgene consists of the adipose-specific 5.4-kb fatty acid binding protein 4 promoter, cDNA encoding a FLAG epitope tag fused in frame to the full-length human prelamin A containing a substitution of a basic arginine with a neutral glutamine at amino acid 482 (R482Q), an SV40 splice site and a polyadenylation site. FLAG-tagged proteins are selectively expressed in extracts of adipose tissue but not liver. (J:237920)
