The transgene consists of the mouse cDNA for an alternatively spliced transcript that skips exons 11 and 12 under the control of the mouse alpha myosin heavy chain promoter. RT-PCR confirmed expression from this allele, but at a rate significantly lower than expression from the endogenous gene. (J:262067)
