The transgene consists of the full-length mouse cDNA under the control of the mouse alpha myosin heavy chain promoter. This allele is one of three that showed germline transmission (the others being lines 8 and 11) and was chosen for futher study. Immunoblot assays indicate that the expression from this allele is around 20-fold higher than expression from the endogenous gene. (J:262067)
