A loxP site was inserted 671 bp upstream of exon 1 (which contains the ATG) and an FRT site-flanked neomycin selection cassette immediately followed by a loxP site was placed 1506 bp downstream of exon 1. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette leaving exon 1 floxed. (J:253969)
