The coding region was replaced with a genomic region containing the gene encoding Xenopus pou3f2. The Xenopus gene lacks the glycine, glutamine, and proline repeats, found in the mammalian orthologs. A loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette was removed in vitro in ES cells prior to the production of mice. (J:259381)
