3575 bp of the gene was flanked by loxP sites, including exons 1 to 3 and the promoter region of the gene. The 5 loxP site was inserted together with an FRT-flanked neomycin cassette 1014 bp upstream of exon 1, and the 3 loxP site was inserted 247 bp downstream of exon 3.
