A loxP site and FRT flanked pgk-neo cassette were inserted upstream of exon 5 and a loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 6 via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and exons 5 and 6. Absence of expression in the brain was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. (J:258487)
