A polII-neomycin selection cassette replaced exon 1, which contains the initiation codon, and part of the 5' sequence of exon 2. Northern blot analysis confirmed the complete loss of mRNA transcript in the heart, kidney, liver, and skeletal muscle of adult homozygous mutant mice. (J:258002)
