A loxP site was inserted into intron 9 and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site into intron 10. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination and exon 10 was deleted through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. Western blots confirmed the absence of protein expression from this null allele. (J:249661)
