The targeting construct contains an FRT-flanked PGK-neomycin cassette, followed by loxP sites flanking the 5' UTR and the first intron. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. The authors note that the allele is null or severely hypomorphic based on embryonic lethality in homozygotes. (J:255620)
