The cre recombinase sequence and the FRTs flanked kanamycin resistance gene was inserted by BAC recombineering methods in-frame following the first exon of mouse FN1 gene in a BAC clone RP24-211L16 containing the whole FN1. Resistant clones were selected and confirmed for appropriate homologous recombination, after which kanamycin was removed using the site-specific recombinase FLP. The final vector was microinjected into pronuclei of fertilized C57BL/6JCrlj eggs. Founder information is not available. Line 41 transgenic line was established and maintained in the same background.
