A loxP site was inserted into intron 6 and a neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site into intron 8. Exons 7 and 8 (and the neo cassette) were subsequently deleted through cre-mediated recombination, resulting in a null allele. Western blots confirmed the loss of protein expression from this allele and RNA-seq confirmed the lack of exon 7 and 8 reads. (J:248400)
