These transgenic mice express the monomeric Red Fluorescent Protein, mRFP, under the direction of the mouse Dcx, doublecortin, promoter. The red fluorescence pattern is similar to the endogenous doublecortin expression pattern. Mice that are homozygous for the transgene are viable and fertile.
