A construct consisting of the human beta actin promoter followed by the cDNA for Wlds that is an in-frame fusion of exon 1 and 2 of Ube4b to exon 2 onwards of Nmnat1, was injected into the pronuclei of fertilized (C57BL/6 x CBA)F1 eggs that do not express Wlds. Four lines were established (4830, 4836, 4839 and 4858) and expression levels of this transgene varied from considerably lower than to similar to that of Wlds in the C57Bl/6Ola strain. (J:72936)
