LoxP sites were inserted to flank exons 15-18 and an frt-flanked neomycin selection cassette. Cre-mediated recombination in the germ line resulted in a deletion of the genomic region containing exons 15-18. These exons encode the kinase domain. Western blot and immunohistochemistry studies showed that no detectable encoded protein is expressed from this allele. (J:229315)
