The targeting vector was constructed by replacing the Sox14 coding sequence with a cassette consisting of a 5' splice substrate followed by the cre gene and a bovine growth hormone polyadenylation signal (bGHpA) followed by a Frt flanked neomycin gene cassette by homologouse recombination in ES cells. The PGKneo cassette was removed after crossing with the FLPeR mice. (J:243238)
