The following elements were inserted into exon 1 after the ATG start codon: the DsRed.T3 (enhanced T3 variant of Red Fluorescent Protein) gene, an IRES, a blasticidin resistance gene (BSD), a polyA signal and a loxP site flanked hygromycin resistance gene cassette. The hygro cassette was removed through subsequent cre-mediated recombination. Fluorescence microscopy confirms expression from this allele is similar to wild-type. (J:149792)
