A loxP site was inserted into the promotor region upstream of exon 1 and a second loxP site and a neomycin resistance gene cassette into intron 1. The neo cassette was deleted through subsequent flp-mediated recombination, leaving a conditional-ready allele with a floxed exon 1. (J:240455)
