A loxP site followed by a FRT site-flanked, inverted neomycin selection cassette have been inserted into intron 3 and a single loxP site has been introduced into intron 4. Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis of total kidney RNA from homozygous mutant vs. wild-type mice demonstrated that this allele is hypomorphic, its transcript present at only ~1.5% of the wild-type level.
