A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1 and a further loxP site and an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette into intron 1. The neo cassette was removed through subsequent flp-mediated recombination, leaving a conditional-ready allele with a floxed exon 1. (J:239656)
