The targeting vector is designed to insert a loxP site upstream of exon 1, including 1.5 kb of the promoter sequence, and an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette, followed by a second loxP site, downstream of exon 2. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette leaving exons 1 and 2 floxed. (J:239734)
