Exons 2 through 5 were replaced with a loxP site, cDNA encoding exons 2 through 7 with a GFP fusion, a polyadenylation sequence, FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette and a loxP site. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed the cDNA/GFP fusion. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in fetal brain tissue. (J:237712)
