A MAPT-lacZ (tau-LacZ) fusion reporter followed by a floxed neomycin resistance cassette replaced the coding sequence of exon 1. Cre-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette. Immunofluorescence confirmed the absence of portein expression in spinal cord-derived neurospheres. (J:233502)
