A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 13. A neomycin resistance cassette, loxP site, human PBX1a, IRES and EGFP reporter gene were inserted downstream of exon 16. Cre-mediated recombination is required to remove exons 13 through 16 and produce a fusion between the endogenous gene and inserted human sequence. This fusion replicates the t(1;19) chromosomal translocation present in some pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients. (J:226241)
