Flp recombinase-mediated deletion of a frt-flanked Pgk-neo cassette from Bmp2tm1Rog has left a loxP site 76 bp past the translation termination codon and a single frt site followed by a second loxP site 446 base pairs downstream of the stop codon. The loxP sites flank an ultraconserved sequence (UCS) in the 3' untranslated region (3'-UTR) of the mouse gene that mediates post-transcriptional repression of protein synthesis. (J:242911)
