A floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted downstream of exon 3. A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2. Cre-mediated recombination deleted the neo cassette and exons 2 and 3. The exon deletion causes a frameshift and results in a knock-out allele that phenocopies a conventional knock-out allele. (J:232969)
