The targeting vector is designed to insert a loxP site upstream of exon 1 (including the alternative internal promoter) followed by a second loxP site and an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance (neo) cassette downstream of exon 1 of isoform 2. This region corresponds to intron 12 in the Kdm2b isoform 1 gene. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. (J:233372)
