A targeting vector was used to insert a stop codon in each frame immediately downstream of the endogenous translational start codon. An IRES-EGFP was placed downstream of the endogenous regulatory sequences and a floxed PGKneo were also inserted. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neomycin resistance cassette. (J:223351)
