The maternal germline-derived differential methylation region (DMR), which is the putative imprinting control region for this gene, was replaced by a loxP-flanked "neo:URA:tACE-Cre" cassette containing a neomycin resistance gene, a yeast orotidine-5' phosphate decarboxylase gene, and the Cre recombinase coding sequence under control of the testis-specific promoter of the angiotensin-converting enzyme gene. The cassette was excised by Cre recombinase upon passage through the male germline, leaving a single loxP site in place of the DMR. (J:82809)
