A targeting vector was designed to insert a monomeric red fluorescent protein (mCherry), and an FRT-flanked neomycin resistance (neo) cassette, in exon 4, just upstream of the stop codon, of the opioid receptor, mu 1 (Oprm1) coding region. Flp-mediated recombination removed the FRT-flanked neo cassette. (J:230181)
