A floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted upstream of exon 1. An additional loxP was inserted downstream of exon2. Cre-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette and exons 1 and 2. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in mouse embryonic fibroblasts. (J:221632)
