A neomycin selection cassette replaced exons 1-2 and part of exon 3. All of the coding regions of the gene are deleted. RT-PCR analysis on RNA derived from homozygous mutant prefrontal cortex and hippocampus showed that no detectable transcript is expressed from this allele. Likewise, western blot analysis on the same tissues demonstrated a lack of encoded protein compared to control tissues. (J:226686)
