The first coding exon was replaced with an inducible cre recombinase gene (cre/ERT2) epitope tagged with three tandem copies of haemagglutinin (HA). Cre-mediated recombination removed the floxed neomycin resistance cassette. Immunohistochemistry confirmed the absence of protein expression in the retina from P30. (J:225578)
