Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library (CHORI) was used to obtain a BAC (#RP23247J9) containing the entire mouse surfactant associated protein C (Sftpc) gene. This BAC was modified to insert an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) fused to an enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) sequence into the 3 UTR of the Sftpc gene. The resulting transgene directs expression of both mouse surfactant associated protein C and EGFP. (J:226317)
