A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1 and a FRT flanked neomycin positive selection gene and a loxP site were inserted downstream of exon 1 by homologous recombination. Flp-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette leaving exon 1 flanked by loxP sites. (J:224701)
