A targeting construct containing DsRed (red fluorescent protein) sequence followed by a loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was used to disrupt the coding region of the gene. RFP fluorescence is not detectable in targeted cells. Cre-mediated recombination removed the upstream floxed neo cassette. (J:223508)
