A truncated murine plakoglobin gene is under the control of the cardiac-restricted alpha-myosin heavy chain promoter. To generate the truncated gene, a 2 base pair deletion was introduced which causes a frameshift at the 3' end of the Jup gene and introduces 11 new amino acids, and a stop codon was introduced after the 11 new amino acids. Three lines were generated: 1, 2, and 3. Line 1 is the high-expressing line. (J:192719)
