These transgenic mice express hen egg lysozyme (HEL) in retinal photoreceptor cells. The expression construct comprised an extracellular lysozyme domain and transmembrane region derived from the MHC class I molecule H-2Kb under the control of the human IRBP promoter. Several lines were generated, and one transgenic line was selected for detailed analysis. (J:145054)
