The transgenic construct contains a 2.5 kb mouse genomic fragment starting from -984 (with respect to the ATG codon) and thus containing the Col13a1 promoter, and the first protein-coding exon as well as 0.8 kb of following sequences in the first intron. This is linked to the second genomic fragment containing 159 bp in 3' of the first intron and 91 bp of the second exon. This is further linked to a mouse Col13a1 cDNA clone containing rest of the second exon and exons 3-41. Finally, sequences coding for a hemagglutinin (HA) tag, transcription termination and SV40 polyA are linked 3' from the cDNA clone. (J:111482)
