A conditional-ready gene trap cassette with F3, Frt, LoxP, and Lox511 sites flanking a beta-geo reporter was inserted into exon 1 and subsequent breeding to a Flp-deleter yielded this allele in which the insertion is in inverse orientation on the negative strand so transcription is normal and the insertion is still subject to Cre-mediated re-inversion.
