This conditional allele, in which exon 3 is flanked by loxP sequences, was derived from the knockout-first Wwtr1tm1a(EUCOMM)Wtsi allele by flp recombinase-mediated excision of the lacZ reporter and the neomycin selection cassette. Cre recombinase expression will result in a knockout mouse.
