The targeting vector contains a FRT-flanked neomycin selection cassette and a loxP site inserted downstream of exon 2 of the targeted gene, and another loxP site inserted upstream of exon 2. The neomycin cassette was deleted by transient transfection using flp recombinase. (J:213334)
