The single coding exon was flanked with loxP sites. An FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted downstream of the coding exon. Flp-mediated recombination removed the selection cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed the coding exon. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in E16.5 embryos. (J:207904)
