The 19 kb transgene construct contains the Tek (endothelial-specific receptor tyrosine kinase; formerly Tie2) promoter followed by a loxP-flanked Stop signal, a beta-globin intron and a cDNA encoding a hemagglutinin- (HA-) tagged NFKBIA (nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B cells inhibitor, alpha; also called IkappaBalpha) with alanine substituted for serine at amino acid positions 32 (S32A) and 36 (S36A). Upon cre recombinase expression, mice bearing this transgene express this superrepressor of NF-kappaB specifically in endothelial cells. (J:82809)
