A targeting construct was used to replace exon 1 of the Npr2 gene with the sequence for a tamoxifen- inducible cre recombinase (cre/ERT2) followed by a polyadenylation signal and an frt-flanked neo selection marker, by homologous recombination in ES cells. The neo marker was deleted by crossbreeding with Flp-expressing mice. (J:205571)
