Full-length rabbit PRKCE with the A to E substitution at amino acid 159 is under the control of the mouse alpha-myosin heavy chain promoter. This mutation prevents the pseudosubstrate domain from binding to the catalytic domain and renders it constitutively active. Northern blot analysis indicates 15-fold increase in PRKCE mRNA level and immunoblot analysis shows 9-fold increase in protein. (J:133484)
