A targeting vector containing a loxP site flanked puromycin resistance selection cassette and EGFP (enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein) was used to disrupt exon 2 (including the initiation codon) and part of exon 3. The puromycin cassette was deleted by transiently transfection of an expression vector of Cre recombinase in the ES cells. EGFP expression is observed in the duodenum and jejunum and to a lesser extent in the ileum. (J:101977, J:214658)
